As your child grows, their motor skills become finer, allowing for smaller handwriting. During the 4th grade year, the lines in the Penmanship to Praise program are half-inch in size, taking your student closer to the size of loose-leaf paper. Simply stated, your child is practicing to write like an adult. Cursive and italic alphabet models are included within the program. You'll also find scripture verses that coincide with the Volumes of the Weaver CurriculumÆ. Use those verses, or choose your own; this option allows you, the homeschool parent, the ability to tailor-make your child's penmanship program.
Daily lesson plans walk you and your child through the first four days of the week. A verse is chosen and written each day, allowing your child time to memorize what they are writing. An extra line is included for practicing specific letters or strokes that your child may struggle with writing. Border sheets (which include age-appropriate pictures, such as flowers, pillars, geographic designs, and more) are provided for the final day of the week. After writing the verse as neatly as possible on the final day, your child may wish to color the border for display.
