Description

Give your child the tools they need to decode just about any word they come across with the Horizons Kindergarten Phonics & Reading Student Book 4. The fourth of four workbooks, this AOP homeschool curriculum contains lessons 121-160 that cover new concepts such as digraphs aw, au, ew, oo; diphthongs oy, oi; silent letters w, k, b, g, gh; endings le, all; syllables between vowels; compound words; double consonants; and non-phonetic word parts. Hands-on-learning activities in the colorful workbooks reinforce lesson concepts with fun, creative activities such as matching, puzzles, fill-in-the-blank, and more. Unlike other phonics curricula, Horizons homeschool curriculum introduces vowels and their phonetic sounds early so your child can start reading right away, even when text includes words with consonant and short vowels sounds.

Horizons homeschool curriculum uses the spiral learning technique in which concepts are continuously reviewed, integrated into new learning, and reinforced, increasing learning comprehension and retention. This student workbook can be used alone for phonics and reading practice or with the Horizons Kindergarten Phonics & Reading Teacher's Guide 4, sold separately, which provides step-by-step lessons and teaching instructions that correlate with student book activities. The Horizons Phonics & Reading Reader 4, which includes 40 short stories that reinforce concepts from lessons 121-160, is also sold separately. With Horizons Kindergarten Phonics & Reading, your child will build a strong foundation in literacy skills, celebrate successes that build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of reading!

The Horizons Kindergarten Phonics & Reading Teacher’s Guide 4 and Reader 4 are sold separately or as part of the Box Set.
