Scripture Reading: John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
Family Reflection
The world can feel dark at times, but Jesus came to bring light, hope, and truth. From a humble manger in Bethlehem, God’s plan to save the world began to shine. His light breaks through every shadow, reminding us that no matter how dark things may seem, His presence is always near.
When we follow Jesus, His light shines through us too. Every kind word, every prayer, and every act of love helps share His light with others. This Christmas, let your home reflect the same warmth and brightness that came into the world the night Christ was born.
Family Discussion Questions
- Where do you see God’s light in your life right now?
- How can our family help share the light of Jesus with others?
- What reminds you of Jesus’ light during the Christmas season?
Activity: “Shine Bright”
Turn off the lights for a moment and light a single candle or flashlight. Watch how even one small light can fill the room. Talk about how Jesus does the same for our hearts and our world. Then, take a walk or drive to see Christmas lights and thank God for sending His Son to be the Light of the World.
Family Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank You for being the Light of the World. Help us to follow You and shine Your light in our words and actions. Fill our home with Your peace, joy, and hope this Christmas. Amen.
Closing Verse
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:5
